This report presents parallelisation of the Australian Bureau of Meteorology global atomospheric model. Eulerian dynamics scheme of the global model in which over half of the execution time is devoted to spectral transform is parallelised with MPI based on transpose method. We demonstrate the performance results of the parallelised version as well as the operational multitasked version. With 8 processors, 5.6 times speed up is achieved at T239L29 resolution 48hr simulation on single node SX-5, shared memory vector parallel processor. It is realized that the overhead of communication between processors is small and performance of the MPI version is close to that of the operational multitasked version.
