Recently, the number of the applied examples of fuzzy theory is increasing. In these cases, the inference process is generally realized by software. And the inference speed is limited to from ten to hundred FLIPS. Therfore a high speed control is difficult by means of the software inference. In order to realize the high speed control, some electronic circuit boards or ICs, which have the inference speed of MFLIPS order, are required. Through the development of two inputs/one output fuzzy inference device which is constructed by only digital ICs (TTL-74 series), is easy to understand the internal structure and has a good interface function with a computer, this paper deals with the presentation and realization of effective fuzzy inference processing by means of hardware. The fuzzy inference device to be developed has 8 bits data for the inputs and output. And 5 labels are assigned to the membership functions. Consequently the height method is applied as the defuzzification and 25 rules will be processed. The design concept of the TTL-structured circuits device and its characteristics will be presented in this paper. Furthermore, we can expect the other higher values by transforming the circuits design concept into VLSI by means of ASIC technology.
