• Gas-liquid chromatographic analysis of metal chelates was applied to the indirect determination of sulfide ion. A constant amount of copper(II) and 1,1,1-trifluoro-4-cyclopropyl-2,4-butane-dione (TFCPBD)H were added in excess to the sulfide ion present in a sample solution. Then the sulfide ion was converted to CuS precipitates and the remaining copper(II) to bis(1,1,1-trifluoro-4-cyclopropyl-2 , 4-butanedionato) copper (II). Cu (TFCPBD)_2. By gasliquid chromatographic analysis of the metal chelate, t6he sulfide ion (25 - 500 ppm) could be indirectly determined.
