A new photometric method was proposed to determine a minute concentration of tetraarylborate anions in aqueous solutions. Tetraphenylborate as low as 10^<-5> - 10^<-6> mol dm^<-3> could be determined by use of the spectral change in the visible absorption peak of rhodamine 6G at 527 nm. The absorption band of crystal violet at 590 nm could be also useful. The photometric sensitivities for the organic borates were as high as 5 - 7 x 10^4 absorbance unit per mol dm^<-3> of the borate at 10^<-5> mol dm^<-3> of the dye for 1 - 5 x 10^<-6> mol dm^<-3> range of the borates. Analytical interferences from ordinary electrolytes and organic solvents supposedly being present in sample solutions were examined to be assured.
