A new method of normal pulse polarography is presented in which the current is sampled after the end of each pulse. This current is plotted against the potential of the pulse, which is changed gradually. An instrument for this purpose is constructed. The advantage of the method is demonstrated by the determination of barium(II) ions in acid solutions. The anodic stripping current at-1.0 V vs. SCE of barium amalgam formed on a dropping mercury electrode during a period of pulse was proportional to the concentration of barium(II) and was not affected by the presence of 0.01 mol dm^<-3> hydrochloric acid.
