Sample concentration dependence of the elution behavior of various ions on Sephadex G-1O has been investigated on the basis of the ion partition mechanism presented for inorganic gel chromatography. When the sample ion has the same charge as that of the background eluant coion, sample concentration dependence of the elution behavior was found to be determined by the difference in the affinity for the gel phase between the sample ion and the coion regardless of the type of the counterion, this result being shown to be in good aqreement with the prediction derived from the ion partition mechanism presented.
