This paper demonstrates how phase transitions can begenerated in simple semantic network models. Semantic networks can be modeled analogously to large-scale physical systems which are well described by statistical mechanics. Statistical mechanics shows that such systems exhibit definite regimes of behavour, analogous to phase states in physical matter.Furtliermore, such systems exhibit phase transition when certain parameters are adjusted slightly. An example of such a system is known as the spreading activation network which is used to model such processes as percolation natural phase transitions.
