This paper disscusses how combination of interval analysis with FAD(Fast Automatic Differentiation)can be used to solve a variety of problems in ray tracing. We concentrate on a very robust algorithm to combine interval analysis with FAD ,which is appliedto finding the first intersection between ray and surfaces.Ray tracing is commonly-used means for synthesizing realistic images in Computer Graphics.The term ray tracing describes the process of casting a ray from the viewpoint through a given pixel onthe imagine plane that appears between the viewpoint and the scene. This pixel is identified with the surfaceof the nearest object that intersects the ray. The calculation of intersection between rays and primitives solids or surfaces is one of the fundamental operation in ray tracing. Mitchell presented a ray intersection algorithm for implicit surfaces using interval arithmetic.In our paper, we concentrate on the very problem finding the intersection between ray and parametric surfaces. Our technique which combine interval with FAD offers improvement over previous techniques. That is to say, we speed up and guarantee finding the intersection of ray with surface by the following:1.Newton interval methods significantly help us deduce smaller regions bounding solutions through using the FAD2.By the invocation of FAD, our technique can efficiently test whether the roots of system of equations in a region exist or not
