In rabbits changes in the thiamine concentrations in the liver, kidney, heart, lung, spleen and adrenal body were observed when the autonomic nervous center in the hypothalamus was stimulated. The stimulation of sympathetic center caused a considerable decrease of the total thiamine content in the liver after 40-60 minutes and in the kidney after 40 minutes. The decrease was slight in the lung after 40-60 minutes and little or no change in the heart, spleen and adrenal. Decrease of free thiamine were recognized in the other organs owing to the low content of the vitamin in them. No significant change was recognized in the contents of free and total thiamine of each organ in stimulating the parasympathetic center.
