• The carbonyl reagents, such as hydroxylamine, semicarbazide, thiosemicarbazid, phenylhydrazine, Girard T reagent, Girard P reagent and two substances with a similar radical, isonicotinic hydrazine and benzoic hydrazine, were tested for the running fit inciting action in the mouse. The suppressive action of vitamin B_6 on these agents was also studied. The former three substances cause a running fit in mice and this can be prevented by pyridoxine. Girard T and Girard P reagents have no running fit causing effect. The latter two agents incite a running fit which cannot be prevented by pyridoxine and on the contrary, pyridoxine has an intensifying effect.
