A pyridine nucleotide-independent, phenazine methosulfate-linked, an inducible methylamine dehydrogenase was isolated from an obligate methylotroph Pseudomonas RJ3. The enzyme was purified to homogeneity as judged by disc-gel electrophoresis and immunodiffusion. The pH optimum for this dehydrogenaase was 7.5. The enzyme is heat stable at 60℃ for 5 min. This dehydrogenase was inhibited by parachloromercuribenzoate, isonicotinic acid hydrazide, mercuric chloride, sodium borate, and its specific antiserum.
