Studies on the Antibiotic Base Analogue, Tubericidin : (I) Microbiological Assay

Microbiological assay for tubercidin was studied.(1) Xanthomonas oryzae was chosen as test organism among five kinds of microorganism including three strains of Mycobacteria, one Streptomycete, and X. oryzae.(2) The disc-plate method was prefered to cup method.(3) Improvements in this method were made in inoculum preparation and their mixing condition with melted agar medium, as well as in agar concentration.(4) A reliable assay curve and its equation formula are proposed.
