Present conditions of school reforestation in Japan during five years from 1949 to 1953 are as follows : 1. Schools numbering 5,090 have joined school planting tree activity every year.2. Total planting area have occupied 9,134 ha every year.3. Total school number joined to school reforestation attained to 38,179 one, so parcentage of planting school appropriate to about 13.3%.4. Average planting area of schools occupy about 1.72 ha.In all school reforestation contest against all school reforestation, Miyagi Prefecture was best of all and particularly, Nango agricultural upper secondary school in Miyagi Prefecture and Hongo upper secondary school in Aichi Prefecture was in the first rank. But, broadly speaking, the school reforestation was not active except few prefectures. From the fact that 35 prefectures correspoeding to 76% of all have been decreaseing in number annually, we can say that the future of reforestation in our country is far from our ideal.
