One of most important factor in dry kiln operation is to blow the air current uniformly from inlet so as to make good circulation. But it is no exasperation to say that no one have never regarded of this problem and designed the inlet duct with reasonable and theoretical intention both of natural and forced air kiln type. To see only this fact, we were obliged to say there were no data of the apparatus of dry kiln. This writing, we hope, is suggestion to a part of this problem and the results are as follows. 1) In the case of same size section of inlet duct, outflow air volume increases as to near the duct end with a ratio. 2) In order to flow out equal air volume from each hole of inlet duct, we may calculate the size of section (F_i+1) as next formula. Q_<i-1>/Q_i=F_i/F_<i+1>√<1+flA/F_<i+1>(1+a)> 3) In order to flow up equally along the whole length of inlet duct, we may decide the distance about 0.3m between each hole. 4) By deciding at least the distance between the surface of inlet duct and heating pipes 0.5m-0.7m, we may have equal velocity of uprising air current just at the heating pipes and good circulation in the compartment.
