The author invented a forceps incorporating a closed ring designed to pass a surgical suture through it and facilitate the pushing of an extracorporeally formed knot into the body cavity during surgery. This set of forceps provides reliable and rapid ligation during thoracoscopic surgery, and has the additional function of a needle-holder thus making suturing and ligation during thoracoscopic surgery less frustrating and in addition less time-consuming.
