Some properties of fine magnetic particles are overviewed. The difference of the size effect in metallic and ionic ferromagnetic materials results from the difference in the origins of magnetism in the two materials. The superferromagnetic state appears in a single-magnetic-domain structure. The relaxation mechanisms of magnetization due to thermal activation and quantum tunneling are described. The change in spin ordering effect is described. Brief descriptions of the surface effect and spin wave (magnon) are also given. At last, a very short description of spin electronics using semiconducting materials is given.
