Stoichiometric Ni_2MnGa has a Heusler-type crystal structure and is ferromagnetic. The specimens of stoichiometric and nonstoichiometric Ni_2MnGa were made by arc melt method. The phase transformation temperature and the Curie temperature of these alloys were determined by the results of a differential scanning calorimeter and A.C. magnetic permeability measurement. The phase transformation temperature increased and the Curie temperture decreased with increasing Ni composition. The phase transformation coincided with the Curie temperature in Ni_<2.18>Mn_<0.82>Ga.
