To meet consumers' increasing demand toward a better style smaller alarm watch, a small thin electromagnetic speaker has been developed. The speaker is 8 mm in diameter and l.9mm in height. In this paper the structure of the speaker is described. the acoustical property of the speaker has been improved and the speaker can be mounted in an ordinary water resistant watch, by attaching a resonator including a sound emitting vibration plate made of plastic. The speaker can also be mounted in a special 100m diver watch by replacing the material of the sound emitting vibration plate by titanium. Acountical properties of the speaker are simulated by using equivalent electric circuit, and the simulation results are in good agreement with measured acoustical properties.
