The rate of quartz crystal watch depends on the temperature, and the watches are usually used in the various temperatures. However, by using the simuration technique with the Monte Carlo method, it is possible to presume the average value and the standard deviation for the monthly rate of the wearing watches, taking into account a variety of the surrounding temperature, the characteristics of the quartz oscillator and the standards of the inspection in the factory. As a result of the application of the above method, it is found that the tempera-ture Tp of the turnning point on the frequncy-temperature curve of the quartz oscillator gives large effect on the seasonal variation of the monthly rate and that the condition for the minimization of the effect is Tp=18℃. Whereas, tha value of Tp taken in the usual crystal watch is 24℃. And, it is found that 97% of the watc-hes with Tp of 18℃ come into the range of ± 10 sec/month, without changes in the other characteristics of the quartz oscillator and the standards of the inspection in the factory. Under tha same condition, the range of ±15 sec/month was obtained for the crystal watches with Tp of 24℃.
