Radio controlled watche that receives time codes on long-wave standard frequency and displays time with hands according to the received time data was developed and put on the market at the beginning of 1993. This is the first radio wave watch of a multi-station selection type in the world, which receives long-wave standard freqencies from Germany, England, and Japan by switching the mode. The installed four motors permit display of hours, minutes, seconds, 24hours, month, day, and summer time. Automatic reading of external time data made possible to realize a high accuracy watch that does not need adjustment. Furthermore, the watch is equipped with a hand position storage function which stores hand position before battery change to dispense with manual time setting after battery change. This paper gives outline of the receiving system of the radio wave watch and description on the super-heterodyne circuit adopted to realize multi station selection.
