Stepping motors for watches rotate 180℃ every step and have a single static stability point. However, until present, it has not been shown that on what conditions the single static stability point be obtained. In connection with the shapes and sizes of permanent magnets and those of stators, we have studied the conditions for obtaining the static stability point by magnetic field analysis using the finite-element method and by confirmation experiment. In this article, we will report the result of our study.
