It is impossible to calculate precisely the stress and distortion of the parts in complicated shape, because the accuracy of the measurements in practice and the reliability of the calculated value are not sufficient. A stress analysing system by the finite element method, which we developed, has been proved possible to obtain the accurate values of stress and distortion by analysis at the designing stage with the finite element method. The remarkable points improved by us in this system are : superiority in accuracy by means of iso-parametric element, that in operation capability by use of CAD, and reduction in time of design. Thus, this system is contributing to making the spring parts design more efficient and more reliable.
