This paper describes a new type multi-functional quartz analogue watch named Cal.6M. The Cal.6M has been developed along the idea that the three hands and the calendar are independently driven by respective motor. This permits a very easy and simple operation. The three hands put on the same axis and the calendar displayed by the date dial are driven forward and backward at high speed so that not only the hands play a role of realizing many functions, but also the calendar is automatically corrected at the end of month. The Cal.6M is provided with a crown for setting a mode and two push switches for controlling the hands and the calendar. Up to 7 modes are available. The selected mode appears on the display screen by the mode hand or by the mode plate under the dial, which links to the rotation of the crown. The Cal.6M is a microcomputer-controlled analogue watch, and therefore, a wide variety of functions ranging from sports to business is available only by changing the program stored in the microcomputer. The Cal.6M adopted coaxial three-hand and date dial system, therefore, the Cal.6M has cleared the limits in design, and also has realized a versatile design flexibility witch meets the users needs such as sports, business, and formal event.
