In this paper the new replacement algorithm, called variable threshold recently used (VTRU) aIgorithm, and its performance simulation are described. The algorithm has one parameter which indicates how far past of access sequence is taken account for the selection of replacement block, and has characteristics of easy implementation and good performance for many cases. Some of the simulation results for microcache are given.
