On the faradic stimulation of the cardiac nerves in dogs, the functional analysis and the study of efferent and afferent courses concerning blood pressure, pulse rate and pain, were performed. Efferent cardio-accelerator from ansa subclavia on the right side, increased the pulse rate distinctly and that from the vagus located in the vicinity of N. recurrens on the right side often influenced the Twave in the Electro-cardiogram. Efferent cardio-inhibitors were found mostly in the branches of the inferior thoracic vagus. The courses of afferent cardio-inhibitors were found on the courses of aortic nerve, but that of afferent depressors were recognized also at caudal part of the inferior aortic nerve. Afferent pressors sent their stimulus to the center not only through the sympathetic system but also through the vagus. Afferent cardio-accelerators were found to have the same pathway as the afferent pressor. Pain nerves were related to the sympathetic system.
