This paper proposes a method of cooperative information propagation that is realized as a multi-agent system. This method is based on the concept of a community, a set of persons who share similar interest. Within a community, agents propagate information by word of mouth. By using this approach, unlike the current methods such as those used for the WWW or e-mail, information providers or receivers don't have to look for appropriate recipients or interesting information. Moreover, agents can join many communities and information can pass over a wide area of the communities at low cost. By negotiating between information providers and receivers, receivers can receive only interesting information and will not receive information irrelevant to them. This method also allows for the dynamic changing of interest and community. This function also allows agents to create social behavior that enables information propagation, and promises to make information propagation on the Internet more natural and less tiresome.
