Globalization along with rapid advances in various technologies inevitably requires a highly confidential idenfication system that stores a high density of information and allows it to de reliably deciphered using a global criterion. Here we report and invisible genetic code system, so-called Nano DNA Barcode System (NDBS), which can meet the above requirement. NDBS was constructed by nanohybridization. First of all, unstable naked DNA strands were intercalated into an inorganic matrix-layered double hydroxide (LDH) to stabilize DNA. These encapsulated DNA strands exhibit it relative good thermal stability (up to 300℃) and chemical resistance (stable at pH greater than 4) and can be recovered safely without any adverse effects by extracting with 0.01M mineral acid. In addition, NDBS was easily observable via PCR. These result represent a step toward implementation of a visual readout system callable of converting information confidentially encoded on a DNA.
