In this paper, we show our design of a system for ubiquitous outdoor kid's safety care [1] using space-oriented concepts and contexts [2--5]. Lots of kid's accidents are due to various dangerous factors frequently existing in some special spaces, such as a construction field, a railway crossing, a road by a river and so on. This system can acquire kid's location information and detect a possible danger near a kid based on semantics [6] of real spaces and interpreted factors of accident. All spaces and related information are defined by specialized schemas, and are described as space-oriented contexts using XML format. The kid's safety care is accomplished cooperatively by a set of agents in this system. Advisory agents can give advices to kids and parents, after the computation of analyzing contexts and predicating dangers. A location awareness agent in a kid's device captures location contexts which are used by an agent in a home server to analyze the real situations around kids. An informer agent in parent's device provides alert messages to a parent with a suitable form and timing.
