• Services that makes use of Smartcards are spreading. However, because of lack of data interfacing or security problems, few Web applications use Smartcards to its full potential. We propose in this paper an architecture that permits easy construction or upgrade of standard Web applications so that it makes use of Smartcard added functionalities. A Smartcard services support library intended for Web applications developers was constructed and we report the results of prototypes made based on this architecture.
