β-Glucosidase was removed from a crude cellulase preparation of Sporotrichum cellulophilum by column chromatography. Cellulose powder (KC-flock) was hydrolyzed to cellobiose with 90% cellobiose content by using this enzyme preparation with an ultra-filter membrane reactor.
