• True growth yields, maintenance coefficients, and true product yields are estimated for Phodopseudomonas sphaeroides S growing on glucose in dark and aerobic chemostat cultures. True growth energetic yields, η_<max>, are found to be larger in oxygen-limited cultures(η_<max>=0.77)than in glucose-limited cultures(η_<max>=0.67). Values of the yield parameters are compared to the theoretical maximum values. True product energetic yields appear to be close to the theoretical maximum value of 0.95.
