Dual Fractional Power Approximation for Nonlinear Functions

For accurate analog simulation of continuous functions, it is advisable to use approximations of the form: f(x)=a_0+a_1x+a_2x^<β_1>+a_3x<β_2> in a full range of an input variable. The exponentsβ_1, β_2 are given by real numbers according to the nature of f(x). The accuracy is comparable to that in approximation using Chebyshev polynomials up to the fifth-degree. Especially, for odd functions,this approximation can achieve good accuracy over an extended interval.
