Arteriosclerotic vascular changes were produced by experimental high lipid feeding and by various methods in fourty eight white rabbits. These changes were more severe and frequent after prolonged feeding over three months. Histopathologically, vascular lesions consist of not only fat deposition but also elastosis, fibrosis and so on. Electron microscopic examination was also performed. From the result of the experiment, the author suggests active metabolic disturbances of vascular wall as pathogenesis of the development of arteriosclerosis. The concept of "capillarosclerosis" was also introduced in this report.
