Studies on Peripheral Circulation by "Ultrasonic Blood-Rheograph"

The authors have studied on the condition of the peripheral circulation with a new diagnostic method using "Ultrasonic Blood-Rheograph". By applying this method to peripheral blood vessels on the surface of the skin, it has been possible to study clinically the state of the blood flow in various conditions and to diagnose pathological conditions. The wave pattern of the detected sounds varied according to the type of the blood vessels and also to the increase of the peripheral blood vessel resistance, such as was caused physiologically by application of cold stimuli on the skin and pathologically by arteriosclerosis.
