The New Course of Study for secondary schools has been published. In order to establish a guideline, the author examined the actual condition of pajamas. The results : 1 Material chosen differs by grade. The 7th graders prefer knit and sucker, while the 9th graders use cotton flannel. 2 As to the cut, most girls show their liking in pajamas with common sleeves, opened in the front and with no collar. The pullover type is used by the 7th graders more than the 9th graders. 3 6% of the 7th graders and 22% of the 9th graders wear home-made pajamas, but many of which are for summer. 4 50% of the 7th graders and 20% of the 9th graders have a will of making pajamas by themselves. 5 About 30% of the girls show some interest in nightclothes which is mostly concerned with the design. 6 To the 9th graders, the design is the chief consideration in selecting ready-made nightclothes.
