ORS-12 Development of the optical flying head positioning mechanism for the near-field optical recording system

A prototype of the positioning mechanism suitable for a near-field optical recording system was introduced. A novel suspension and a carriage structure were newly developed for the mechanism. A novel control technique was presented to suppress the off-track caused by friction force using an acceleration sensor installed in a carriage. The performance of suppressing force disturbance was evaluated.
