This study is to investigate and resoleve the influence of sex role attitudes of parents (male and female) on the choice of career patterns of their daughters who are university students. For this investigation, 311 male and 315 female parents were asked about their sex role attitudes toward their daughters, while 325 female adolescents were asked how they recognize the attitudes of their parents, how they evaluate them (i.e. sympathy or antipathy), and how they choose their own career patterns after graduation. As the result of these investigations, it was found out that both actual and recognized attitudes of parents have much influence on their daughters' sex role orientation: i.e.whether they should stay home or take some ccupation. It was found out, however, that although daughters are actually influenced by their parents' attitudes, how they are affected by them, on the other hand, depends on how they recognize and evaluate their parents' attitudes. It was also found out that how daughters evaluate their fathers' attitudes differs from how they do their mothers. For mothers, daughters' evaluations depend upon whether mothers' attitudes concide with daughters' own sex role orientation, while, for fathers, it depends on whether fathers respect their daughters' independency or not, how well they understand their daughters, and whether they treat their daughters with no discrimination for gender or not, in spite of daughters' own sex role orientation. In conclusiont it is mothers' attitudes as a same modele to indicate a life course to their daughters, while fathers' role is to prepare a standingpoint of life for their daughters and to encourage them with generosity.
