This paper describes the development of a transportable plasma spraying system, which The Chugoku Electric Power Co., Inc. has developed jointly with Aero Plasma Co., Ltd. For the purpose of reducing maintenance costs at thermal power stations. This system can be loaded on a 2-ton truck and easily used for ceramic spraying at local sites. It can produce a highly wear-resistant ceramic coating at a low output of 15kW. This development makes it possible to perform spraying for permanent facilities and equipment which could not be sprayed easily until now.
