D211 EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THE IMPROVED HORIZONTAL BIAS BURNER

The horizontal bias burner has been widely applied in the coal fired utility boilers. In the 300MW boiler of Guang'an Power Plant, the primary-air burners are of horizontal bias burner. In its previous operation, the burnout of the lean primary-air nozzle and jam in the lean primary-air channel occurred frequently. The causes of the troubles are that the selection of the air flow ratio and pulverized-coal mass flux ratio between the rich and lean sides is improper and the visible circumfluence and low speed zone exists at the downstream sections of vanes. Based on this, an improved horizontal bias burner was developed and applied in the boiler. Compared with the original horizontal bias burner, some improvement measures are applied in the novel burner : replacing the first vane with an edgy hillock, cutting notches on other vanes, and making some optimization of the dimension. Test and application results show that the improved horizontal bias burner can realize lower NOx emission, high combustion efficiency and excellent performance of part load operation without oil support. It also can avoid burnout of the nozzle and jam in the lean side channel.
