This paper presents the experimental research of visualization of 2-dimensional temperature fields in a 300MW pulverized-coal fired furnace Using flame image processing instrumentation system. The method of radiative image calculation is described. The temperature distributions result by reconstruction from flame images demonstrates the temperature fields of a section above combustors region shows typical unimodal distribution attribute. Furthermore, the excursion of the flame center from the geometric center is consistent with operational experience of the staff in the power plant. The maximum temperature at load of 250MWe is higher than that of 250MW by 80K. The updating period of the two-dimensional temperature field is not longer than 3 seconds, and it can meet the request of on-line monitoring.
