The purpose of this study is to clarify the potential of the eco-cutting process for the super heat-resistant alloy Inconel 718. Experimental cutting by turning has been conducted to find ways to improve the efficiency of difficult-to-machine materials such as the super heat-resistant alloy Inconel 718. The techniques of the cutting process applied in the experiments include dry cutting, wet cutting with an emulsion coolant, oil-mist cutting, and cool air cutting as well as cutting with a mixture of oil-mist and cool air. During the cutting experiment, cemented carbide tools were used for turning the periphery of round bars. Based on the experimental results, it was found that by using a mixture of vegetable oil-mist and cool air, an equivalent effect of machinability as that obtained using the emulsion coolant was determined.
