This paper deals with the heat transfer enhancement of a water pipe flow with drag reduction surfactants. The surfactant water solution has a flow drag reduction effect, but, it is allowed to decrease the heat transfer to the water in a pipe. In order to enhance the heat transfer, some wire coil type turbulent promoters were inserted into the pipe. In the present study, the pipe friction and the heat transfer coefficient were measured under various experimental conditions of wire coil diameter, pitch and length.
