In the present study, aging effects on grain structure and dielectric properties were examined for single crystal and polycrystalline ice. The ice was preserved for 21 hours at a constant temperature lower than the melting point. It was found that, in the case of single crystal ice, any changes in crystal structure and dielectric properties were not observed during the test period. On the other hand, for polycrystalline ice, recrystallization was clearly observed and also changes in dielectric properties were detected. The relationship between the aging effects on grain structure and dielectric properties of ice was analyzed with an equivalent electrical-circuit model. The experimental results could be verified theoretically from the analysis of the equivalent electrical circuit model.
