In order to investigate the characteristics of the film flow in each tube bank, we measured the flow rate distribution of the falling film under the tube. The hollow cone spray nozzles give an annular shape of the flow distribution. The maximum local flow rate occurs at the center between two adjacent nozzles. The tested tubes were the bare tube bank array, the floral tube bank array with longitudinal grooves and the low-finned tube bank array. In addition, the mixed array tube bank array, combining the floral tube with the low-finned tube, was also tested. With the bare tube bank array, the film flow rate was concentrated on the center of the film flow width. In case of the floral tube bank array, the concentration of the film flow rate is slight. And in case of the low finned tube bank array, the film flow pattern remains the same changed from the upper section to the below section. In the floral tube, the flow is uniformly distributed. Consequently, we tested the mixed array tube bank array, and the film flow distribution is found to be very uniform.
