The paper highlights the conceptual design and the development of the heat exchanger component on a 50 kW closed Brayton cycle gas turbine with a low pressure ratio, for co-generation system. The gas turbine works with the helium based mixture-gas of a large thermal conductivity and with a simple rotational component of centrifugal impellers and a co-axial high speed generator. One of the key technologies of this gas turbine is the heat exchanger and a compact micro-tube laminar flow type heat exchanger module was developed. The main feature of the cycle and the heat exchanger are discussed in terms of technical issues and problem solutions.
