The rising of gases into the atmosphere, the evaporation of water from lakes and from water films in the process of spray-cooling are multiple buoyancy flows. An experimental investigation of a saturated turbulent buoyant jet emerging from nucleate boiling of water over a heated surface and issuing into a quiescent air environment was carried out inn this work. This work isolates the buoyant jet appearing in spray-cooling applications from the droplet atomization process.
