The grinding heat that flows into the workpiece greatly influences product quality. This always becomes a problem in the manufacturing factory. Therefore, there are many studies concerned with fraction of heat energy inflows. Those estimated the fraction of heat flow have widely dispersed with 30 [%]∿90 [%]. There are differences of thermal energy inflow factor and calculation method in estimating the fraction of heat flow and heat source factor, etc. as a cause. Littmann's measurement method of surface layer temperature was adopted in many reports. The measurement hole is required this measuring method. The possibility in which the measurement hole gives effect to the accuracy of measurement values is found. It is considered that this is one of the reasons for not determining the fraction of heat flow. In this study, thermocouple embedding technique was devised and did not require the measurement hole, and it was adopted for the measurement. Before, the relationship between measured value and measurement hole size was verified in comparison with workpiece surface layer temperature got by the measuring method with the measurement hole and it. Then, the fraction of heat flow into the workpiece was obtained by the analysis of the measured temperature in inverse heat conduction problem. In addition, the effect of oxidation heat formed in the grinding generating plane was found. This was not considered until present day as a heat source.
