A series of deformation tests was conducted on nickel-based superalloy IN738LC at the temperature range between 450℃ and 950℃ in order to investigate inelastic deformation behavior. In the cases of a cyclic strain hold waveform at isothermal high temperature and a cyclic loading under anisothermal conditions, the material showed anomalous inelastic behavior : mean stress continues to evolve with an increase of cycles, which is quite difficult to express by conventional constitutive models. A unified inelastic constitutive model was proposed so as to describe the deformation behavior adequately. In the constitutive model, a new internal variable that has an influence on dynamic recovery property of back stress was incorporated into a kinematic hardening rule. The proposed unified constitutive model was applied to the various kinds of inelastic deformation to examine its validity. It was demonstrated that the present unified constitutive model was successful in describing the inelastic behavior of the material adequately, including the "anomalous inelastic behavior".
