A creep model is established for a cross-ply laminate with constant transverse crack density on the basis of a linear viscoelasticity theory in conjunction with a shear lag analysis. Strain response to constant applied stress is obtained by numerical inverse Laplace transform. Effect of the shear properties and transverse crack density on creep behavior is investigated. Predicted strains are in good agreement with experimental ones for a carbon/epoxy cross-ply laminate.
