Multiple inspection train - Dr. Yellow has a counter about an absolute distance from Tokyo station. This counter used a tachometer generator until now. It was a weakness that we sometimes couldn't get a right data by slipping a wheel. Thus we developed a new counter which could measure a distance by using not a tachometer generator but laser. The new counter measures the train speed and the distance by calculating a difference of laser frequency. It has a high accuracy because the new measuring is non-contact not to be affected by wheel-slips. Using a new system, we can get an absolute distance with accuracy and reliability.
